Sarah is a Consultant in Crime Scene Investigation and a Lead Professional Trainer for Alecto Forensics.
A graduate from Reading University with a 2:1 Degree in Zoology with Biochemistry and Physiology, Sarah has had an extensive career within the police environment as a Crime Scene Investigator, with 25 years experience in a variety of challenging forensic and management roles.
She holds a Diploma in Crime Scene Investigation (APEL) and a CMS Management Qualification. Sarah has worked as a CSI but also developed her career as a Crime Scene Manager and then entered the covert field becoming the Level 2 Covert Tactical Advisor for Thames Valley Police and the Regional Forensic Lead for Kidnap and Extortion crimes. Sarah worked extensively in the co-ordination of forensic opportunities on covert drug operations working with surveillance operatives, the Serious and Organised Crime Teams within the Police environment, and with the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the South East Counter Terrorist Unit (SECTU).
Sarah also spent 8 years as a Crime Scene Co-ordinator with Thames Valley Police, and was involved in the co-ordination of extremely complex major crime investigations, which included numerous Category A multiple murder scenes, high profile suspicious deaths, and terrorism offences. Sarah has extensive experience in writing and implementing forensic strategies and the coordination of major crime scenes, using internal and external staff, resources and forensic specialists. Additionally, Sarah is an experienced DVI SERM, and has experience in major crime reviews.
Sarah has worked in the private sector since 2016, and is now a consultant for Alecto Forensics. She has obtained a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and has applied her extensive teaching skills to deliver professional training for CSIs and CSMs, and CPD courses for police professionals. She has delivered these training courses initially for Cranfield University and subsequently for Alecto Forensics. She is also a UKAS Technical Assessor for 17020 for Crime Scene Investigation.
